Legal Ethics in Entrepreneurial Legal Practice
The legal profession is undergoing significant transformation driven by technological innovation, market competition, and evolving client expectations. Entrepreneurial legal practice—characterized by innovative service delivery models, alternative fee arrangements, and technology-enabled legal services—has emerged as a response to these changes. While entrepreneurial approaches offer opportunities for improved efficiency, access to justice, and professional sustainability, they also raise complex ethical challenges. This paper examines legal ethics in entrepreneurial legal practice, analyzing how traditional principles of professional responsibility intersect with innovation-driven business models. It explores ethical issues related to client confidentiality, conflicts of interest, competence, independence, marketing, fee structures, and access to justice. The paper argues that existing ethical frameworks must be interpreted and, where necessary, reformed to accommodate entrepreneurial legal practice without compromising the core values of the legal profession. The study concludes with policy recommendations aimed at aligning legal ethics with innovation while preserving public trust and professional integrity.
