A Study on Consumer Buying Behavior Towards FMCG Products in Selected Districts of Karnataka
The Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is one of the most significant contributors to economic growth and consumer welfare worldwide. FMCG products are characterized by their frequent purchase, low unit cost, rapid consumption, and short shelf life. These products include food and beverages, personal care items, toiletries, household cleaning products, over-the-counter healthcare products, and other daily necessities. Owing to their essential nature, FMCG products form an integral part of consumers' everyday lives, making the sector highly competitive and continuously responsive to changing consumer preferences. The sustained growth of the FMCG industry has been driven by rising disposable incomes, urbanization, technological advancements, expanding retail networks, and increasing consumer awareness regarding product quality, health, and sustainability (Kahn & Wilson, 2025).
