The Mediating Role of GHRM Practices in the Relationship between Employee Engagement and Company’s Culture in Energy Sector in India
The current research investigates whether Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices are able to mediate between employee engagement and corporate culture in the Indian energy sector. The purpose of this study is to understand how environmentally friendly human resource practices support employees' commitment and help in the creation of a positive corporate culture. A structured survey was used to collect primary data from 385 employees from both public and private energy companies. Descriptive statistics, correlation, regression analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) were all used to analyse the data using both SPSS and AMOS. The findings indicate that GHRM practices have a strong positive effect on both employee engagement and corporate culture. Results from the correlation and regression analyses reveal very strong relationships among variables, while the SEM analysis suggests that employee engagement only partially mediates the association of GHRM practices with corporate culture. Furthermore, the model fit statistics indicate that the proposed model fits the data well enough to be useful as a tool for analysis. This study suggests that GHRM practices can enhance employee commitment, improve the work culture and further support sustainability goals in the Indian energy sector; therefore, this research represents a significant contribution towards the development of higher standards in sustainable human resource Management among HR managers, policy makers, and business leaders looking to make sustainability part of their human resource management practices.
